Reck shrugged and lifted the book, “Got all this free time. Figured I’d catch up on some books I've missed out on.”

I sat with him and pointed at the book. “What do you got?”

He looked at the cover and then said, “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.”

I gaped at him. “Reck, that book came out, like, twenty-five years ago.”

He didn’t seem fazed. “Yeah. Like I said, a lot of books to catch up on. Anyway, where have you been all day?”

“I’ll tell you about it later. How are you feeling?” I asked.

“Decent, still sore as hell. I’ve never taken so long to heal before.”

“You’ve never been hurt that bad before either.” I stood up to go. “Listen, bro, you get some rest, all right?”

Reck shrugged, “Yeah, sure.”

Once in my room, I turned the shower on. Zoey’s taste lingered on my lips. Her scent and flavor weaved through my head, still. I felt like a kid again, kissing his first girl and then thinking about it for hours afterward. I stepped under the water and sighed as the nearly scalding shower rinsed the day away from me. My face directly beneath the spray, I was hard again. It had softened when I talked to my brother, but my erection had returned, aching and pulsing. All I could do was think about Zoey, the way her hair felt between my fingers, the way her body felt against mine. I couldn’t stop the thoughts that filled my head, a fantasy that I wanted to fulfill. I closed my eyes and let my mind do what it wanted to.
